Artist's Comments

Something I shot tonight - under exposed, hence the pixels. Tried to reduce them.
Hmmm, silhouettes!

That is so beautiful! Ilove the sky and the I know what they are called but I cant think of there names xD

Beautiful coloration and composition. It looks like your sky suffers from color noise which usually is most notable on uniform surfaces. My suggestion is to use a tripod and drop that iso way down.

If you want to reduce that noise get NeatImage...it does a really good job.

That's impressive, maybe there is a metaphysical message hidden in the beautifull picture ... The futility of human existence in front of the infinity of the sky ?

I so like the way you think!

Thanks!
Do you get noise in your pictures, only reason I ask is that your works look so polished, clear & clean, it's hard to tell. Thanks for tip about the ISO. Another guy dropped by & asked about it but didn't tell me it was the cause for the Noise. Just wandered off with a "I thought so". I wanted to smack the power tripper.

I checked out NeatImage - saving the cash as we speak!:D

Well I think they have a free version too...but I opted to buy the one that allowed usage for 16bit/channel images...since I edit in raw.

Noise is always a problem...even with the canon 20D which has great noise control it can creep in and destroy your images. The best bet is to use the lowest iso setting on your camera...expose just enough to prevent shadows from being totally black without overexposing (I know...freakin difficult most of the time). Dark areas are where I get the most noise if I try to brighten the image. During post processing I'll use neat image, but not all the time. Some noise is sometimes advantageous...because it gives a nice warmth to the image.

It really comes down to an image by image basis.

Thank you again... I've chosen I dive in the deep end recently with my camera. So recently I've been playing with the shutter speed, the F. & the ISO all at once. It's really quite mind boggling to realise how many variations you can have of those settings, the hard part is getting them to work together to produce the best image - that's the new thing I love about photography.

ISO is something I keep forgetting because manipulating it kinda requires a Shift key type of activation. Your help brings it to the front of my consideration with shots now. Ta.
